New Construction and Renovations

Whether renovating your home, upgrading your business space, or building your dream home, we can provide the solutions to bring your vision to life. We will work with you to design the lighting and power requirements for your project.

Service Upgrades / Panel Changes

Is your electrical service a 200A or 100A service? We work with BC Hydro to upgrade your electrical service to ensure your home has enough power available for your new hot tub, EV charger, or heat pump.

Is your electrical panel old, outdated, and unsafe? We can change just the panel and ensure your electrical panel will function safely for years to come.

Maintenance and Repair

From safety inspections, cable insulation testing, or troubleshooting circuits to changing that light bulb only works occasionally - whatever it is, we can provide the technical support and maintenance you need to keep your home or business functioning well.

Heat Pumps, EV Chargers, Hot tubs

Heat pumps, EV chargers, hot tubs, and other large electrical appliances are heavy loads that can require 30A, 40A, 50A or sometimes even larger dedicated circuits installed to supply enough power to them. As well, there are often requirements for disconnect switches or ground-fault protection to ensure a safe installation.

Whatever your appliance, we can do an assessment to ensure it is not going to overload your existing electrical service, and we can work with you or your appliance supplier to prepare the connection.

Working on live electricity is not only dangerous, but also a fire hazzard. Depending on the work involved, portions of the electrical system may have to be de-energized temporarily. If power to the whole building must be turned off for longer periods (such as during service upgrades or panel changes) we will work with your schedule and requirements to ensure the least disruption.

As a regulated product in BC, most electrical work will require a permit and inspection. We take care of all permitting and inspections through Technical Safety BC.

After the initial “rough-in” work is completed, photos will be submitted along with a request for inspection. The installation must remain open (no insulation or drywall) for 48 hours – during which an Inspector may request to visit the site and complete a physical inspection of the installation.

If after 48 hours (or after a passing, on-site inspection), you are free to continue with the work and close up the walls and ceiling.

There are many variables that may cause a service upgrade to take longer that usual, but often there is also some preparation that can be done beforehand to make the upgrade day go smoothly. Under average circumstances, the actual service change will take about one day to complete. The power will be turned off for 3-6 hours.

Sometimes the work will continue into the next day to complete the non-essential connections into the new panel, but you will NOT be without power through the night! We will ensure that the essential circuits are back on and functioning by the end of the first day.
